MATHIS takes 135-year timber experience and innovation to Ecobuild

March 1, 2012 - PRLog -- MATHIS, a leading European glued laminated timber-frame producer, will take part in Ecobuild at the ExCeL exhibition centre, in London (UK), from 20 to 22 March 2012. The trade show, which is the UK’s largest construction event, focuses on sustainability within the sector.

Throughout the course of its 135-year history, MATHIS has acquired outstanding experience in wood-working, and is now a European leader in glued laminated wood frames. The company continuously strives to enhance this expertise by developing new ranges of products and construction systems.

MATHIS will take part in the Ecobuild trade show at ExCeL, in London, from 20 to 22 March of this year, as it looks to develop business relationships with industry players seeking economical, ecological and easy-to-implement construction systems.

MATHIS provides highly innovative solutions for various facilities, including office real-estate, industrial buildings, logistics facilities, as well as sports and educational sites. All the construction systems and timber frames are designed, cut, manufactured and installed by the company, which is based in France.

The products and construction systems provided by MATHIS are all environmentally friendly, such as its standard and bespoke glued laminated beams for buildings. This product, which leaves a large space, as required, beneath the roof poles, is resistant to fire and aggressive chemicals, and can be fabricated using any wood in the range — Acerlam, Ecolam, Redlam and Coloram. These woods all feature specific benefits and characteristics, including Ecolam, which is from a sustainable source and is naturally resistant, thus not requiring chemical preservatives.

MATHIS also produces AZUREL, a range of high-performance structural panels made of wood. They are especially suitable for quick construction on poor-quality ground, and their insulation has been designed for use in severe climates.

BBS is another of MATHIS’ products. This is an innovative construction system which is made up of cross-laminated timber panels that can be used for floorboards, walls, or roofs. This system has outstanding mechanical properties that make it appropriate for usage in multi-storey constructions and in buildings located in seismic zones. The material used for the BBS range is also highly fire resistant.

All the products developed by MATHIS are certified by both the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). They are particularly suitable for all projects certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) mark of excellence.

Every day, MATHIS designs, manufactures and installs the equivalent of a sports-hall-sized construction site somewhere in the world.
