Feb. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Lake Forest, CA: Chroma System Solutions, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been contracted to provide the 309 EMXG OGDEN AIR LOGISTICS CENTER (ALC) repair depot at Hill Air Force Base C8000 test systems and associated test software and fixtures related to electronics testing of the E-3 aircraft.

Chroma Systems Solutions will provide three C8000 test systems and associated test software and fixtures to replace existing test sets related to the E-3 aircraft throughout the 309 EMXG OGDEN AIR LOGISTICS CENTER (ALC) repair depot at Hill Air Force Base. The Electronics Maintenance Group (EMXG) is responsible for repair and testing of numerous end item Line Replaceable Units (LRU) and Shop Replaceable Units (SRU). Acquisition of the C8000 System will dramatically reduce future ATE downtime and production shortfalls for aircraft systems. It will also greatly improve the future readiness, sustainability, and operational capabilities by providing an economical and expedient solution for obtaining Automatic Testing Systems (ATS) support for test issues.

The current phase of the project consists of finalizing the Performance Specification that will cover test requirements for all 33 UUT's, followed by a detailed system configuration definition. The Preliminary Design Review (PDR) will be held at Chroma Systems Solutions in the month of March. It will cover system configuration, preliminary self test and ITA design, as well as software development implementation. The Critical Design Review (CDR) meeting is scheduled for the month of May.

The C8000 is commercial-off-the-shelf equipment which has been in production for over 10 years at Chroma. Designed to be a complete solution to all types of power electronics testing, the C8000 system is integrated with a wide range of hardware such as AC/DC Sources, Electronic Loads, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Noise Analyzers, and Isolation/Dielectric testers. Its range of use, combined with an open architecture software platform, PowerPro III, provides users a flexible, powerful and cost-effective test system.
