Feb. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA - The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama recently announced several changes to its senior leadership team, including the appointment of a new CEO to lead the organization through the implementation of a far-reaching strategic plan.

John J. Brennan, who had been Executive Vice President for the American Heart Association’s Greater Southeast Affiliate, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama.  Brennan brings over 20 years of executive experience to the organization, and is excited to be at the helm during this period of tremendous growth.  “I am sincerely honored to be the staff leader of our local Make-A-Wish organization.  Its amazing mission to grant the heartfelt wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, right here in our back yard, is absolutely remarkable.  Such magical moments truly provide hope, strength and joy when they are needed most.  They prove to our community’s seriously ill children and their families that anything is possible.”

George A. Georgiou, Chairman of the Board, cites that the Board of Directors conducted a detailed and thorough search for the new leader of the organization.  “The staff, donors, sponsors and volunteers deserve nothing less than world class leadership, and we are convinced we have that in John Brennan.  His vast non-profit experience and leadership skills will be called upon to take the organization to even greater heights, which equates to more children in Georgia and Alabama having their heartfelt wishes come true. The entire board couldn't be more excited to have John as our new CEO."

In other changes, Dianne Lee, formerly a Major and Planned Gifts Officer with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, has been appointed Vice President of Individual and Foundation Giving.  In this role, she will further develop the organization’s donor portfolio, overseeing foundation and individual major gifts.  She will also serve as the primary contact for the Women for Wishes Leadership Committee.

Finally, in a newly created position that expands Make-A-Wish’s efforts in public engagement including communications, brand marketing, creative development and social media, Fabiola Charles, formerly a Community Relations Officer with the American Red Cross of Georgia, has been appointed Vice President of Communications and External Affairs.
