PODS moving and storage teams up with Queen of your Move to give customers the royal treatment

Feb. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- (SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) -  Visitors to last weekend’s Santa Barbara Home and Garden Expo were greeted by an unusual sight as they entered the Earl Warren Showgrounds. On display at the main entrance was a large PODS® container that had been completely transformed from an empty, utilitarian moving and storage unit into a perfectly manicured living room, complete with lighting, paint, flooring, window coverings, decorator furnishings and professional designer touches.

The beautifully transformed PODS® container was the brain child of Steve Yapp, owner of PODS, which serves Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties, and Cindy Dakovich and Terry Davey, co-owners of Queen of Your Move, an interior design and remodeling business. The two businesses recently teamed up to provide their customers with a seamless moving experience that incorporates all aspects of relocating to a new home, from beginning to end.

“This collaboration makes perfect sense,” said Yapp. “PODS takes charge of the physical move and then, once we deliver a customer’s belongings, Queen of your Move, adds their decorator flare to set up the home in the most space efficient and visually appealing way.”

The unique business partnership helps eliminate some of the stress associated with moving to a new home and removes the “living out of boxes” stage that often lasts for months. Customers who contract with PODS Santa Barbara for their moving and storage services can also have their home professionally decorated by Queen of your Move as the boxes are being unloaded.

“People on the move appreciate having professional assistance as they unpack and decorate their new homes,” said Dakovich. “Our collaboration with PODS helps our customers to settle in to their new spaces and feel comfortable in their new homes much more quickly.”

PODS and Queen of Your Move plan to utilize the designer PODS® container to promote their joint business venture at other Central Coast home shows and community events. It will next be displayed at the Spring San Luis Obispo Home Show on May 5 & 6, 2012.
