The 14 Days of Love campaign aimed to raise awareness about the continuous plight faced by local businesses and prove that local communities can make a difference to a town's economy and pride. Support for independent businesses is essential for the British high street, which saw an increase of 0.9 percent in January retail sales last week.
Bolton saw 17 National category winners, businesses being recognised as 'the most loved' in their industry sector and the two most loved businesses in the UK, THE Chinese Buffet and The Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant.
David Ramsden of thebestof bolton said, "It's really encouraging to see such a huge number of people voting in the 14 Days of Love campaign. It just goes to show how much our communities are supporting their local independent businesses, which is great news for the British high street especially during difficult economic times. Small businesses are the engine room of our economy and lots of local business owners - and their loyal staff - are feeling great because their efforts have been recognised and appreciated by so many of their customers."
Munaf Ibrahim of Red Chilli Design commented, "It is great to see people coming out to support local businesses and the British high street, thank you to all our customers who voted for us in the 14 Days of Love campaign, we're really honoured to be named the most loved business in Bolton."
