By: Paul Hoskings The Commonwealth War Graves Commission ensures that 1.7 million people who died in the two world wars will never be forgotten. They care for cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations, in 153 countries. Their values and aims, laid out in 1917, are as relevant now as they were almost 100 years ago. Renovation and maintenance forms a major part of their responsibility. Each year around 20,000 headstones are either replaced or repaired by their staff. The work is never ending and they are proud to continue to work to the high standards set by the Commission in 1917. Some of those directly involved in this work attended the training, it is hoped they will never need to call upon the First Aid skills learnt while undertaking their valuable work: http://www.aid- # # # Aid Training & Operations Ltd are a renowned market leader in the provision of the highest quality training throughout the UK and Worldwide End
