Icon News Host Lew Marklin to Write New Book About His Controversial Days With ADHDtv

Feb. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Hollywood, CA - Atomic Lawn Entertainment is proud to announce that Icon News host, Lew Marklin will be releasing a new book by summer entitled "TV In ADHD" about his pioneering days, producing and starring in ADHDtv.  The show was pioneered by Marklin, who came up with the idea that began on a local access station in Santa Barbara California, where Mash had attended college, studying Broadcast Journalism and Film Studies, at SBCC and UCSB.  The show started in March of 2007 and by 2008 had taken the nation by storm, airing in 52 cities and causing quite a raucous among fans and foes the same.  The show boasted celebrity cast and interviews, challenged politicians and predicted that Barack Obama would be president, well before the Iowan Caucus of 2007.  Most considered the show irreverent and the claims to be ridiculous at a time when Hillary Clinton comfortably led the campaign trail.  Lew Marklin and Eugean Smith were right and the show took off like a rocket.  
          Marklin, who has had a rough battle with substance abuse, opens up about his struggles and shares some of the ups and downs on set, with fellow cast members, while explaining why he created the unique show in the way that he did.  He talks about why he would do it again and what he would change, while offering the reader an insight into his philosophy, and promises that his theory can be applied by any aspiring producer to create their own national TV show production independently.  
          Mash also addresses drug and alcohol use and offers the reader wisdom in how to overcome your obstacles when everyone says that you cannot make it.  Of the book says Marklin "I really wanted to address ADHDtv and explain why I did the things I did, with what I had.  I turned nothing into something and it worked.  So much of who I am today, I can attribute to that show.  I turned my life around and battled with my addictions and rather than hide it away from everyone, I think I should expose my struggles and address them so that someone out there can learn from what I went through, draw from it and overcome their battles.  Drugs and alcohol do not make someone a bad person, it just creates a new challenge to overcome.  If I'm going to fix a car, I need the right tools.  A wrench.  A socket set.  Maybe I need screw driver sets or something heavy duty.  The human condition is the same.  Our dreams usually become attainable when we get the right map, game plan or instructions, but there  obstacles in life, our circumstances, our character flaws, our vices.  It is just as important to overcome our character flaws sometimes as it is to pursue the dream itself.  With God's help I was able to overcome many of mine and pursue my dream, when no one was willing to give me a shot and I hope that my story will help someone to the same."  For Marklin, this will be his first book.  The book will also talk about practical applications such as editing work flow, green screen use, news coverage, syndicating your own national show, working with celebrities, branding your product, protecting your project legally and working a red carpet. Lew Marklin was a Producer and Editor for ABC News, Fox Soccer Channel, The Los Angeles Dodgers, Fox Family Entertainment and worked on various TV shows and movies along with being a signed rap artist before giving everything up to follow his ultimate dream of producing and starring in his own national TV show.  The book will be available on Amazon and other quality sites.
