This years three Icon News reporters at the Oscars
- Feb. 27, 2012 -
Hollywood, CA - Icon News was at the center of all the Academy Awards events sending Sheri Nadel, Laci Kay and Zachary Alexander Rice to cover events on both Saturday and Sunday, with some of the biggest celebrity names on Hollywood's biggest night. Icon News was the only show at this years Oscar events to have kid reporters on the red carpet as Laci Kay, 13, and Zachary Alexander Rice, 7, hit the Night of 100 Stars event at the Beverly Hills Hotel, recent location of the Whitney Houston tragedy, just weeks ago, on the eve of the Grammy's. Laci Kay who is known for her appearances in Christina Aguilara's "Hurt" video stars in a new TV show and movie, due out in 2012. Zachary Alexander Rice, who is best known for his reoccurring roles on Jimmy Kimmel Live, is perhaps the busiest seven year old in Hollywood, if not the world. Rice is everywhere you look these days, and adding Icon News to his fast growing list. The two will be added to a new segment called Icon News Jr., in which the two young Hollywood celebs will interview A-listers aimed to the teen audiences. Show Producer, Lewis Marklin Mash has plans to develop an Icon News Jr. show, for kids networks and of the event says "Laci and Zachary are two very professional youngsters that are growing leaps and bounds. Everyone's got their eyes on these two and I am just so excited that I got a chance to nab them up and work with them on the show. I think the segment is going to be a hit and I can't wait to work with them more. I think, there is no better way to cut your teeth as a show reporter than on the Oscar red carpet. It's a dream come true for any Hollywood veteran, both young and old." Marklin produced this years Oscar coverage from Northern Oregon, where he is currently living and working on other projects. Mash directed the activities with his cell phone and lap top, never stepping foot on Hollywood soil and adds "It really is a sign of the times to be 600-800 miles away from an event as big as this and be able to manage everyone with a lap top and a cell phone. I did almost everything from text message and email. It was a non stop typing all weekend. I barely spoke at all. This really is an amazing age that we live in. We did not have one incident. Everything ran smooth and perfect. I didn't turn on the TV, so I'll start watching recaps later tonight."
For Sheri Nadel, the shows head reporter and co-host, the Academy Awards are nothing new. Nadel has been covering the Oscars since 2008. Laci Kay was outfitted in a yellow dress by Bebe with jewelry accessories by Dainty Lions.
