First Responders to a Disaster with structured equine activities, April 14, 2012

American Holistic Nurses Association approved 4 contact hour class for nurses and medical allied staff which simulates an earthquake disaster modeled after the Haiti earthquake.

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 26, 2012 - This class is designed to help healthcare professionals develop an awareness of their own stress prior to work with their patients, awareness of boundary issues, making a physical assessment of the patient in a team triage, subtleties of self presentation and communication necessary in a disaster for the provider-patient relationship and other professionals. No riding involved and no horse experience needed.

Registration/breakfast-7:30am
Hours-8am-12:30pm
Payment: cashier’s check/money order to Georgia Benyk 14 days prior to class
100%refund due to inclement weather
Fee:$85

Centers are wheelchair accessible, but classes not recommended for vision or hearing impaired individuals.

Participants must be present for the class and sign in/out if leaving.  All participants are required to sign a waiver of liability prior to class instruction.  Participants must waive/not waive permission to use their photographs in future marketing material.No products are sold at this venue. Georgia Benyk is Owner and Director of Equine Learning Center and has a financial interest in this class.

Approval for contact hours through the AHNA is based on an assessment of the educational merit of this program and does not constitute endorsement of the use of any specific modality in the care of clients. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the American Holistic Nurses Association Education Approval Committee, an accredited approval by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission of Accreditation.
