Feb. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Aaron Maybin, Baltimore native and New York Jets’ OLB, is proud to announce the 3rd Annual “Celebration of the Arts” Week presented by his charity, Project Mayhem. The week will span February 27 -March 3, 2012 and consist of Aaron and celebrity friends hosting art workshops and beautification projects in Baltimore City elementary, middle and high schools, community centers and Sinai Hospital pediatrics.

“Art is an integral part of who I am and it is critical that every child has access to art education. This year, I am proud to kick off my week of workshop by announcing the Young Audiences/Arts for Learning Access for All grant recipients at Patterson Park Charter School.  This grant provides funds to schools that need help providing art programs to their students,” Aaron said. “I am so excited to support this effort and thank my sponsors Macy’s, CoverGirl, Sinai Hospital and Proteus Technologies who share my passion for encouraging student creativity. Everyone is invited to celebrate the arts with me on March 3rd at the Reginald Lewis Museum where I will be showcasing my own artwork in collaboration with Mathew Rice, along with the finalists of this year’s youth art contest. Guests will also be treated to a private concert from the talented recording artist, J Rome.”

At the Celebration of the Arts Reception on March 3rd, Project Mayhem will be awarding the 2012 Palette of Excellence Awards to Art with a Heart for their dedication to providing disadvantaged students access to art programs and to Ms. Billie Taylor for her tireless individual efforts to renovate the Autograph Theatre as an artistic outlet for the community.

Aaron will be visiting Patterson Park Public Charter School, Inner Harbor Academy for Young Scholars Charter School, Refugee Youth Project at AME Zion, Guilford Elementary – Arts & Technology, Augusta Fells Savage Institute for the Visual Arts in Harlem Park, Jubilee Arts, Sinai Hospital and many more programs.  The complete "Celebration of the Arts" Week itinerary is available via email at Media@theEchelonLife.com.  The public is invited to join the celebration at the reception on March 3rd where finalists of the regional art contest will be showcased in addition to musical and dance performances.
