By: Maria4JP Campaign Maria has been a resident of Fayetteville for 18 years and active in the community for years. Maria has worked in the vendor community for 16 years and intends on using her professional experience in analysis, forecasting, projection, and technology to help make the budget process more efficient and transparent to the community. "I believe that I can help the Quorum Court stream line its current budget process. I can use my professional experience to target areas of the budget that may not currently be estimated accurately and create efficiencies in the process. I routinely analyze large amounts of data and provide multi-billion dollar companies with projections, forecasts, and budgets to make them more efficient and profitable - why would I not share that knowledge and expertise with my community?" said Mrs. Hicks "I want to provide additional access to information on the processes of the Court for the constituents by maximizing the use of technology available to us. I hope that by doing so, we can have more community involvement in the running of the county. I also believe that government works better when it is representative of the people it attempts to serve. I would like to be a voice for the diversity so prevalent in our county, so that we can truly have a representative government. I am called to serve and would be honored to represent our district and our community." Maria was the vice-chair of the organizing committee for Democratas Unidos Conference held in Fayetteville, AR on Labor Day weekend last year. She is the third alumn of the Democratas Unidos Conference to launch a campaign for elected office in 2012 in the state of Arkansas.
