Follow on Google News | Good Care Guide could be a useful tool for parents if controls are maintained, says NDNAThe newly launched Good Care Guide could be a useful tool for parents as long as robust controls on review posting are upheld says National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA).
By: NDNA Purnima Tanuku OBE, Chief Executive of NDNA, said: “Parents already share information about their nursery experiences with friends, family, and via social networking sites and the Good Care Guide will provide another way to do this. It is positive that the site links through to Ofsted and it could prove to be a useful resource for parents looking for a high quality nursery in their area. However, it is imperative that the planned robust controls are maintained to prevent malicious or false reviews being posted which could unnecessarily damage nursery businesses. “We understand that nurseries will be alerted when a review of their setting is posted on the Good Care Guide but they also need to be aware of the ways they are reviewed generally on other sites on the internet. There are free tools available to help with this such as Google Alerts or Social Mention where nurseries can set up alerts which will notify them if their nursery name is mentioned online. “NDNA will stay in touch with members for their feedback on how the Good Care Guide works in practice.” --Ends-- Notes to editors: • National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is a national charity representing children’s day nurseries across the UK, giving them information, training and support, so they can provide the best possible care to young children.
