OnCell Powers New Cell Phone Tour for VSA Vermont Art Exhibit

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 23, 2012 - A new cell phone tour, provided by OnCell, is kicking off at VSA Vermont, in Winooski, Vermont,  starting February 26, 2012. The cell phone tour, as part of OnCell's suite of interactive tour services, will help offer a mobile experience to those visiting the new VSA Vermont “Engage” exhibition, featuring Vermont artists with disabilities.  Visitors will be able to listen to powerful audio segments recorded by all the artists participating in Engage.

The “Engage” exhibition project has importance to artists, audiences and venues across Vermont.  VSA Vermont, formerly VSA Arts of Vermont, is a not-for-profit arts and education organization, dedicated to making the world of the arts accessible to Vermonters of all abilities. Presenting both new and established artists, the Engage exhibition brings the work of 35 Vermont artists with various disabilities to the forefront of cultural life in Vermont.  

VSA Vermont’s OnCell audio tour includes the artists’ statements, a reading of all label materials, plus audio descriptions of 22 works of art.  Visitors can access the audio tour program using their own cell phones, smartphones and tablets by simply locating the artwork, dialing the tour number or going to the mobile web, entering the stop number listed on the label, and following the prompts.

The “Engage” exhibition will be open February 26 – April 29, 2012 at the Amy E. Tarrant Gallery of the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.
