Extricom Release New Access Point Products to Worldwide Channel

Extricom delivers their next generation of AP's to bring further flexibility and diversity to their patented portfolio of products that continue to bring the highest capacity, true seamless mobility and unrivalled connectivity to the wireless world.

Feb. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY – February 23, 2012 – Extricom, a developer of enterprise wireless LAN that provides seamless mobility and high throughput with their patented Channel Blanket™ architecture to critical applications in warehouses, hospitals and schools have today announced that their new range of four Extricom Access Points that have been developed to enhance the existing Product Portfolio, have been released to their Worldwide Channel.

Director of Products at Extricom, Tomer Reisner commented ‘Extricom continues to provide enterprise WLAN with superior performance to sites across the globe, and the addition of this next generation of Access Points will further strengthen our position as we progress through 2012. We have designed the new products to meet the ever-increasing global demand for high-performance enterprise wireless technology that can truly deliver the latest high-bandwidth applications. They have been built to enhance the Extricom Channel Blanket's inherently high throughput, whilst maintaining the other unique advantages of the architecture. The new EXRP-33n, EXRP-32n, EXRP-22n and EXRP-22En products are equipped with the latest best-of-breed silicon and radio modules and the most advanced radio layer features that can offer numerous advantages. These, combined With Extricom’s Channel Blanket™, zero-latency mobility, same-band channel layering, and TrueReuse™ channel processing,  produce a wireless network that is as dependable and multi-service capable as the wired network.’
The new product features include Transmit Beam Forming (TxBF), enabling better speed versus range performance by adapting the transmitter to the measured channel conditions against the receiver. Space-Time Block Code (STBC), which improves throughput by transmitting the same data using multiple antennae . Low Density Parity Check (LDPC), that provides better data coding gain with improved throughput. They also offer Maximum Likelihood (ML) detection, Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) and a Cyclic Delay Code (CDC).
Extricom’s sophisticated technology topology solution is based on a fully centralized WLAN architecture, in which the switch makes all of the decisions for packet delivery on the wireless network. In this configuration, the Access Points simply function as radio points, with no software, storage capability, MAC or IP address.  Even the basics of connecting are different: clients associate directly with the switch, not with the Access Point. The Extricom technology enables enterprises to gradually introduce 'n' devices into an existing environment, and do so at whatever pace is convenient for the business, without experiencing any conflicts with legacy devices. They can choose to deploy 'n' with 40MHz channel bonding in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, for 2x higher throughput versus 20MHz channel bonding. And they can easily achieve 300Mbps data rates even when legacy 'g' or 'a' devices are present by segregation of 802.11n and 802.11a/b/g on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands, resulting in up to 7x higher throughput than mixed 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN’s. All this, without having to rework the number, location, and cabling for Access Points.

Reisner continues ‘The ultimate challenge to Enterprise WLAN is how to support multiple applications with conflicting system requirements, such as voice and data. Extricom has resolved this problem with an elegant simplicity: separate the applications on different Channel Blankets. The result is the only integrated system that delivers predictable grade of service, by enabling different applications to operate in parallel, without contention, on the same physical infrastructure. Our new Access Point products will bring even more flexibility and diversity to our proven solution, therefore giving our committed channel partners an even more robust offering with which to gain more market share.’
