The festival features two films about people thriving in their 60s, 70s and beyond. Admission is $30 and includes a boxed dinner & discussion.
By: BIG ARTS The festival begins with the screening of the acclaimed Korean film "Poetry." Awarded Best Screenplay at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, the film stars treasured Korean actress Yun Jung-Hee as Mija, a woman who finds strength and purpose in poetry while struggling with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and raising her delinquent adolescent grandson. A discussion and boxed dinner follows the film. The second film of the festival is the documentary, "How to Live Forever." Filmmaker Mark Wexler embarks on a curious and lively investigation to uncover the secrets to living forever. For this documentary, Wexler interviews fitness legend Jack LaLanne; receives hormone replacement advice from actress and author Suzanne Somers; meets Buster Martin, a chain-smoking, beer-drinking centenarian marathon-runner; A discussion with wine and cheese will follow the film.
