“As part of our international recruitment effort, we are committed to continue bringing quality teams to the Continental Cup. We want the tournament to keep growing and for the level of competition to draw other important teams from around the world,” stated Eddie Marles, AC Milan Youth Program Coordinator for North and Latin America.
Club America de Cali, known as the Red Devils, has deep roots in the sphere of Colombian soccer. The club was officially founded in 1927, but its origins can be traced back to 1918. Club America de Cali holds 13 national championships with the most recent in 2008. They currently compete in Categoría Primera B.
Additional elite AC Milan Academy teams from Colombia, Curacao, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Aruba and the United States are also slated to participate.
This summer the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission will host the seventh annual Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival presented by Cleveland Clinic Sports Health from July 8-12 in various venues across Northeast Ohio. It will comprise of three sports including the AC Milan Continental Cup (soccer), Cleveland Indians Charities Continental Cup (baseball), Cleveland Cavaliers Continental Cup (basketball)
