Feb. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- San Jose, Calif., February 22, 2012 – Wrike, leading provider of social project management software, releases a powerful product update that gives managers an easy way to monitor and control their teams’ workload. Wrike’s new workload view brings employees’ schedules together, thus giving a clear picture of how assignments are distributed between colleagues. The feature helps to accurately allocate resources, timely detect and resolve schedule conflicts, and reorganize assignments so that the team’s performance is optimized.

“As a design firm that is constantly multitasking between 30-40 open projects, we needed a “just in time” snapshot of where we stood with design, drafting and project support scheduling to see who was available and when.  Our tasks change hourly with new requests coming in and priorities shifting. The view by resource enables management to take a quick scan of the workload distribution and assign new tasks, change the timing or assignments, and monitor open spots in the week.  It enabled us to have full control of our schedule without time wasting follow ups and meetings just to review schedules.  In short, the tool is there when we need it and does not impose any additional workload on the team to maintain. We were able to drop our archaic task management system without missing a beat. When Wrike provided access to the workload view by resource I was sold. We signed up for a year subscription just based on that feature!” says Ivan Weiss, Executive Vice President at Studio e Design Group, after taking advantage of the new feature during private beta testing.

Wrike’s workload view is an interactive timeline that visualizes tasks grouped by team members. If an employee has overlapping assignments in his schedule, the conflict is highlighted so that the manager can resolve it in the best way. It’s possible to reschedule tasks, change their duration or assignee by simply dragging and dropping them right on the chart. Thanks to Wrike’s new feature, teams react to changes quicker and have their efforts balanced, while each of the employees doesn’t get stressed with work overload. In addition to re-allocating tasks between workers, managers can see and organize the tasks that haven’t been assigned yet. When changes are made to the schedule, the team members are instantly notified about these updates by email notifications and in Wrike’s Activity Stream. Even if colleagues work from different locations, they are always in the loop with the changes to the plan and are able to readjust their priorities accordingly.
