Bucking the trend for most car retailers in the UK, Paul Brayley, Managing Director of Brayley Honda, located on Hatfield Road, St Albans and at three other dealerships in Hemel Hempstead, Enfield and Grays, is adding Mazda and Kia to his franchise portfolio for the first time.
Having acquired the lease for the long vacant former car retail site on the High Street, Harpenden, Brayley intends to open the dual-franchise showroom and servicing centre in three months time, trading as Brayley’s of Harpenden. As well as car valeting bays, a DIY dog valeting station is also being planned. Work on the site is starting immediately and it is anticipated that the new business will create up to 35 new jobs in the local area.
Speaking about Brayley’s move into the town, Member of Parliament for Harpenden and Hitchin, the Rt Hon Peter Lilley MP commented:
“I welcome this new investment, which is good economic news and vital to ensure we retain a vibrant High Street with a varied range of services.”
As part of the Brayley Motor Group’s expansion plans, the company will also be helping drive forward the performance of the Old Albanians Rugby squads in 2012, thanks to a new sponsorship deal.
With aspirations for promotion of the Old Albanians 1st XV team to National League 1, as well as further development of its younger teams, Brayley Honda has become the club’s latest major business partner at an important time. In addition, the Honda dealership is unveiling a range of new cars during 2012, including the brand new Civic, which went on sale this month.
Commenting on the company’s growth and its sponsorship of Old Albanians RFC, Paul Brayley, Managing Director, Brayley Motor Group, said:
“As a well established local business, I’m very excited at the prospect of developing the company further as a customer focused and financially robust regional dealer group. The economy remains challenging but we have proved that there’s a healthy market for good old fashioned service in supporting motorists, where people are well looked after.”
Helping the Old Albanians to fulfil their potential will be a real privilege, as well as supporting the development of younger players coming up through the ranks. As a well established business serving the local community, Brayley Honda is pleased to be playing its part in helping the club achieve its ambitions this year and beyond.”
