PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 20, 2012 - In the midst of a world pivoted on revolution, famed photographer Mick Rock summons the turbulence of the 70’s, mirroring the angst and upheaval of a generation of rebellious youth. As we are brought back to times of reckless behavior, we are reminded of our generation’s most recent pitfalls.

By revisiting his most classic rock and roll imagery, Rock educates us of a fire born of the music industry, now extinguished. Reworking these images into more personalized forms of expression, he reminisces about life experiences with the greatest of contemporary artists, drawing on lessons learned by Warhol and Bowie, from Capote to Gaga.

From his iconic arsenal, Rock has chosen to focus on the famous while respectfully refraining from the infamous. Through a kaleidoscopic affront on color theory, Rock wildly pursues his own agenda.

It has taken Rock more than 40 years to arrive at his rightful place as artist extraordinaire. His Legend Series debuts in Chelsea at CATM Gallery on March 22nd, ushering in a rush of nostalgic lament coupled with celebratory optimism.
