Feb. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- “Tunkhannock will be the place to be this Friday when we celebrate 4th Friday”, said Mark Monsey, president of the Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association that is coordinating the event.  “We are thrilled with the response that we have received from area businesses,” he added.  “There are more venues participating and there is an great variety of special  “4th Friday” activities; from food and wine to art, antiques and special sales, we have it covered this month.”  
“New this month Nimble Hill is featuring photography, pottery, music as well as a 15% off wine purchases,” according to Nancy Parlo, TBPA coordinator.   “The Hampton Inn is featuring appetizers from Remington’s 5pm-7pm.  Artists of the Endless Mountain Council of the Arts will also showcase their work.  A crowd pleaser during “Christmas in Our Hometown”, the windows at Greenwoods Furniture will offer “Living Windows” from Whipple Performing Arts Studio as they present “America’s Sweethearts” and “The Living Word – Esther- the true story of a young girl who saved her nation from 6pm-8pm.  Greenwoods is also featuring selected art by Betty Pratt and Ralph Kehrli.”
A repeat of one of the very popular attractions in January will be at Pen Corners where Art and Antiques by Kitson & Company, Patrick Robinson will be displayed.  They will also offer hot and cold refreshments along with the acoustical guitar music of Mike Antosh.
For visitors seeking dinner, the Tioga Bistro will be transformed into Bistro Italiano where diners can select from different pastas, sauces and chicken, shrimp or meatballs.  The restaurant is BYOB and those bringing a Nimble Hill Wine will not have to pay the corking fee.  Twigs Restaurant, from 5 pm-to closing, is offering diners  a discount card redeemable at several merchants including Jennifer L Gifts and Antiques, baZi Gifts, Beads & Baubles and Paradise Gifts.
This Friday will be bittersweet for Judy Mead and the staff of Fitzes as they wind down their current merchandise in preparation for the store’s temporary closing and transformation into a new venue.  Shoppers are encouraged to stop in to visit the Fitzes ladies and enjoy some refreshments and the glass art of Bill Slater.
Additional participants include EBB’s Candy Bar that will feature Asian Inspired Sweet Treats Buffet; the Dietrich Theater Earnshaw and Sherwood Galleries were some pieces of the art collection of Lori Bogedin will be displayed; Popcorn Etc; Sassy Albert Soaps featuring the land and city scapes of Waverly resident Mike Sorrentino; Endless Music; Paradise Gifts, Ambience Wallcovering where samples of pumpkin soup will be available and also some featured work of a concrete artisan.
Also, Friends Art and Unique Gifts,  featuring the work of Sadie Allen and Bob Blum; Beads and Baubles, Allison Walburn Photography; The Spice Shoppe that will feature local artisan Terri Proctor and offer free samples of new tea; The Mary-Go-Round will exhibit the work of local potter Katherine Williams; The Old Store will display the work of a local artist; Jennifer L Gifts and Antiques, and baZi Gifts.
