Ryanair Chase Betting Guide - Cheltenham Festival

Nicky Henderson’s Riverside Theatre returned to the track with a bang on Saturday, when winning the Ascot Chase – a race he took 12 months ago.

Feb. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- After having a year out with a pelvis injury the classy 8-year old showed no signs that setback has impacted his talent and the Seven Barrows yard now have a real weapon for the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 3 weeks time.

Owned by the actor James Nesbitt, he was always in control at the head of race, and it further advertised the training talents of Nicky Henderson, who a day earlier had brought back Burton Port to run the current Gold Cup favourite Long Run close at Newbury.

StanJames.com spokesman Rory Jiwani says, “That was a very taking performance from the horse owned by actor Jimmy Nesbitt on his favourite track. He and Medermit finished well clear of the rest with Kauto Stone a big disappointment.

“Nicky Henderson’s eight-year-old is now 4/1 favourite for the Ryanair from 7/1. He has disappointed at Cheltenham in the past but the manner of his victory makes him the one to beat.

“Rubi Light was 5/1 favourite at the start of the day, and he remains that price after a convincing win in the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park.

“Invictus put himself right in the RSA Chase shake-up with victory over Bobs Worth and Silviniaco Conti in the Reynoldstown Chase. Alan King’s six-year-old relished the step up in trip and we’ve cut him from 50/1 to 10/1 for the three-mile novice chase at the Festival. A win at Cheltenham would secure connections a £60,000 bonus having already won at Plumpton, and they could opt for the easier Jewson Novices’ Chase for which he is now 8/1 from 20/1.

“Bobs Worth is 6/1 from 4/1 for the RSA after his first run following a breathing operation with Silviniaco Conti out from 12/1 to 20/1. We’ve also had to cut favourite Grands Crus from 2/1 to 13/8.”

“Massini’s Maguire is now 33/1 from 80/1 for the Grand National after a game victory under Tom Scudamore in the three-mile listed handicap chase. Cappa Bleu ran well in third so we’ve trimmed him from 25/1 to 20/1 for Aintree.

“Up at Haydock, Brindisi Breeze demolished a decent field to state his Albert Bartlett claims. We initially cut Lucinda Russell’s six-year-old from 33/1 to 10/1 but weight of money led us to cut further to 9/1 for Cheltenham.”
