Polar G594 alternative King KR12 comparison review

Feb. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- The Polar G594 is a gastronomic sized double door stainless steel refrigerator. But is it an good?

Having sold commercial fridges for over 25 years, and visited almost every refrigerator factory on the planet, I have a good understanding of these products.

The Polar G594 is made in the seaside town of Qingdao in China. The product is 1200 litres in capacity and takes gn2/1 shelves. It is also available under the brand name Apollo but is the exact same product. Generally a good product, but there are some short comings.

1) it is made of 403 stainless steel in the outside. 403 stainless is a low grade stainless with high nickel content which can lead to rusting after a few years.
2) it has a single small compressor. Too much pressure can lead to burn out easily. A costly repair in the long run.
3) the inner is aluminium. Well, that's the rust problem again!
4) static refrigeration system means that the walls of this fridge get cold and a fan blows the air around. You will get ice build up on the walls of the fridge and this will require regular manual defrosting. Ie. turn the fridge off for 24 hours.

King refrigeration also import the model KR12 a good alternative.
Made with 304 stainless steel on the inside and outside, rust will never be a problem. Two compressors give you double the lifetime expectancy of the refrigerator.
It does however have the same static refrigeration system.

Both models are approximately the same price. The King model should  last longer though.
