The winner, Kenyan-born Kennedy Kemei, finished with a time of 2:20:32. The female division winner, Anzhelika Averkova of Eugene, Oregon, finished with a time of 2:38:22. The top breast cancer survivor, Dina Salvador of Ottawa, Ontario, finished in 3:42:32.
The marathon was founded by Jacksonville news anchor and three-time breast cancer survivor Donna Deegan. Proceeds from the marathon benefit The Donna Foundation and fund cutting-edge breast cancer research at Mayo Clinic. Race officials said 2,288 registered for the full marathon this year.
Morseman, a marathon runner based out of Addison, NY hopes to participate in the Poconos Marathon coming up in May. His most recent win was in the Wineglass Marathon in October 2011 in Bath, NY. Morseman is sponsored by Pacific Health, a sports nutrition company based in Bellingham, WA.
