The ramifications of World War II last for generations in the novel "Chasing Rainbows."

Feb. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- The ramifications of World War II last for generations in the novel Chasing Rainbows.

As the Germans bomb London in 1940, young Jean Shapland is evacuated to Cornwall. When her parents are killed, she is adopted. She falls in love with her foster brother, David, and eventually they marry. But their marriage is not a happy one. David’s best friend, Tom, has always loved Jean. Always striving to acquire wealth, David tires of family life in the country. He leaves Jean with two small children.

This heartfelt story of love and betrayal plays out over the generations in Cornwall, South Africa, and America, ending in 1975 and proving that Finding the End of Your Rainbow Is Not Always Simple.

About the Author: Pamela Le Bailly spent the last years of the War in the W.R.N.S. and then became a Navy wife. She followed her husband to South Africa and America, bearing three daughters along the way. An avid gardener, back in England she also became interested in the art of pressing flowers. She sold her work widely, and many visited her garden in Cornwall. The author’s increasing physical disability meant giving up gardening, leading her to write a book on pressed flowers, and then two cookbooks. Chasing Rainbows is a story that rolled around in her head for years. She is now a full-time author.
