Acting as a consultant to the Marussia F1 team, Dr Pat Symonds has a wealth of experience within the motor-sport. After studying for an HND in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Automotive engineering under sponsorship of the Ford Motor Company, Pat entered the world of motor sport. Initially working for small production racing car manufacturers Hawke and Royale, he achieved unprecedented success both on the track and in business. Pat has been involved with some of the major F1 teams over his career, including Benetton, Renault, and Virgin F1.
F1 is all about time/turnaround of new designs, and speaking from his experience with some of the largest motorsport teams in the world, Pat will give a unique insight into the application of simulation in this fast-moving arena.
This highly anticipated presentation will be part of an extensive program of presentations which have also been announced. A full list of confirmed presentations is available on the conference website www.nafems.org/
NAFEMS UK Conference 2012
Simulation has the potential to transform a company’s engineering processes – providing unprecedented insight into product performance and inspiring innovation by allowing novel concepts to be explored and evaluated.
NAFEMS, the independent association for the engineering analysis community, is holding its UK conference during 30-31 May 2012 with the primary aim of helping attendees realise the full potential of their engineering simulation and analysis. The 2012 NAFEMS UK Conference will explore the extent to which this potential has now been realised, and what more can be achieved.
The two day conference will focus on existing best practices as well as state-of-the-
This is the fourth NAFEMS UK conference to date, with each being undeniably bigger and better than its predecessor. Following on from the extremely successful 2010 conference, the 2012 event will certainly be the UK’s leading event on simulation technology aimed at the engineering analysis community – bringing together leading industrial practitioners, consultancies, academic researchers and software developers in a neutral forum.
Open to members and non-members, this event is positioned to be the premier simulation event in the UK in 2012. For more information about the conference and to register for the event, please visit www.nafems.org/
