Wynne is famous for singing and starring in a TV advertising campaign that has made him a household name as spoof opera star Gio Compario.
The tenor, who’s just returned from performances in Europe, said: “It’s great to be back in Wales for this patriotic occasion; especially being alongside such great artistic company.
“I’m really looking forward to performing with Alwyn Humphreys, Morriston Orpheus Choir and the Chamber Orchestra of Wales; it’s going to be a memorable event.”
St David’s Week is a week-long celebration organised by Swansea Council which will commemorate our patron saint and celebrate the city’s rich Welsh heritage of music, food, dance, poetry and culture.
Frances Jenkins, Swansea Council’s Strategic Manager for Tourism, Marketing and Events, said: “St David’s Week is a unique week-long celebration that Swansea can be proud of. It’s packed with lots of different events and a music line-up that is yet to be rivalled.
“We hope that residents and visitors will join in our cultural celebrations during this memorable week in Swansea.”
The celebrations take place at a number of locations across the city but the Brangwyn Hall plays a leading role in the week and has a great programme on offer.
Tickets are on sale now for all the events taking place at the Brangwyn Hall during St David’s Week.
