Children, Teens, and Adults at Tyler Park Center for the Arts

Get a "taste" of Spring at the new Culinary Arts/Cake Decorating Workshop featuring Easter Basket Cupcake Bouquets at the next Session of Tyler Park Center for the Arts Workshops and Classes, 10 Stable Mill Trail, Richboro, PA, starting March 5, 2012.

Classes and Workshops beginning March 5 and running through April 8 include a variety of Fine Arts and Theme Based Workshops for children Pre-K through 13 and adults including culinary arts, glass fusing, fiber art, painting, drawing, pottery, sculpture, wildlife woodcarving and more. Registration is open now and details are available by emailing Workshops@TylerParkArts.org  or calling 267-218-0290.

“There is a workshop or a class for everyone," said TPCA Program Director Donna Hurwitz, “We're very excited to offer for the first time several Culinary Arts workshops.  Wendy Goodman's one-day Spring Season Cookie Decorating workshop for Kids ages 5-11 takes place on March 17 at 1pm and features Spring and St Patrick's Day themes, while her Adult workshop on March 24 at 1pm guides students in creating gorgeous Easter Basket Cupcake Bouquets.  We're also delighted to have Leanne Blevins, owner of Magic Glass Art, with us for a 4-week Glass Fusion workshop for children on Fridays at 4:30 starting March 9 and a one-day workshop for adults on Friday March 23 at 7pm .”

"Woodcarving artist Hal Houser presents a wonderful 5-week Wildlife Woodcarving Workshop where adults and children 16 and up will learn basic woodcarving and create a Sandpiper Decoy,” Hurwitz added. "Hal's workshop begins February 28 at 6:30pm. We'll also be offering a Metalsmith Sculpture Workshop with Peter Cimino in April. Details will be available on our website."

Some of the children’s workshops include: Art Explorers with Donna Hurwitz, Who’s Who in Greek Mythology with Marketa Garces, Exploring Fibert Art with Gina Tavelli, Sculpture Garden Exploration with Gwen Stevenson based on the TPCA outdoor sculpture garden. Workshops for ages 12 and up are: Drawing in Multiple Mediums with Gwen Stevenson and Oil Painting for Beginners and Beyond with Donna Hurwitz.

Ongoing daytime painting studios for adults in oil and acrylics taught by Donna Hurwitz and watercolor taught by Gwen Stevenson are held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 1pm, respectively.
