Feb. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- GOLDEN, CO -- The Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum will launch the 3rd annual Environmental Photography Exhibition on February 23, 2012, in conjunction with the opening night of the Colorado Environmental Film Festival.

A wine, beer and bourbon reception for the exhibit will take place on Friday, February 24th from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the lower lobby area of the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, Colorado. Buffalo Trace Bourbon will provide a complimentary tasting at the event.

In November, the Museum hosted a call for entries that earned national and international attention. The submissions were then reviewed by a panel of qualified jurors and narrowed down to 30 final images to be showcased in this exhibition. This year's exhibition was juried by National Geographic senior photo editor Kim Hubbard, Photo Technique magazine editor Wendy Erickson, and award-winning environmental photographer Stephen Weaver.

Highlighting a variety of styles, techniques and subjects, the Environmental Photography Exhibition hopes to represent the shared vision of world communities that are concerned about environmental issues. The common theme of this environmental exhibition is the image's ability to inform, convey, motivate or passionately move its viewer.

The exhibition will be open to the public from February 23 through April 9. For more information, visit http://www.mountaineeringmuseum.org/photoexhibit. Tickets and event information for the Colorado Environmental Film Festival can be found at http://www.ceff.net.
