£3m PC Power Management Fund Launched

Feb. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Gill IT launches the first £3m PC Power Management fund to help organisations improve PC energy efficiency with centralised PC power management.

The Gill IT PCPM fund is designed to help organisations reduce the cost of PC Power Management which can be costly depending on the number of PCs.

PC Power Management applications have a ROI varying between 3-12months. However many organisations are put off by the up front costs which can run into tens offs thousands of pounds. This is all the more evident is the current economic climate.

There are rebates available from power utilities especially in the USA however many ended in 2011. Similar rebates have not been available in the UK and many other countries.

Organisations can use Utopia Power Manager with the license fee offset by the fund.

Utopia Power Manager can save on average £30/$48 per PC per year. For an organisation with 1000 computers this could translates into a saving of £30,000/$48,000. With 5000 computers the savings could be £150,000/$240,000.

With Utopia Power Manager an organisation can manage their PC estate centrally in real-time. System administrators can execute tasks against any number of computers on an ad-hoc basis. Power Management and system maintenance schedules can be created based on date, time or system performance.

Open documents can be automatically saved to ensure work in not lost.  
 
PCs can be automatically powered up using a number of options which are all integrated within Utopia Power Manager – no additional software needs to be purchased separately.
