Mr. Towers is the president, historian and newsletter editor of the 30th Inf. Div. Vet. of WWII, Inc. He also does their website. {He'll be 95 on his next birthday, in a few months!!}
As a Lieutenant during the war his unit came across the “The Death Train at Farsleben, Germany.” Lt. Frank Towers was a headquarters liaison officer with the 30th Division. Towers is the person who took the train survivors to safety, health care, food, clothing and shelter. Mr. Towers had written an account of the liberation of the train on the 30th's website years ago. Carol Thompson a daugher of a World War II veteran, who was written up in the February 4th Accent Section of the SMN (article by Polly Schramm), has been instrumental in getting a reunion together of the 30th Division of WWII veterans who will meet in early March from all over the country.
