UNIVERSAL CITY, CA (February 13, 2012) -  Safe Passage  http://www.safepassagelives.org/ and innovative Photographer Amy Martin-Friedman partner  for the 2nd time, to help women and children survivors of domestic violence get back on their feet.  “A Day in My Shoes” is an Art Exhibit and Book created by Martin-Friedman to generate awareness to this sensitive subject, culminating in a very special Celebrity Studded Luncheon Fundraiser  benefiting Safe Passage, that comes the day before the Oscars.  Special Safe Passage Awards will being given out to people who have helped and supported Safe Passage over the years.  Among the Honorees will be:   From the “The Doctors Show”, Dr. Andrew Ordon, from Beverly Hills, Dr. Ritu Chopra and William Dorfman, DDS and Actress Lindsay Wagner.   We will also have a very special Certificate of Honor, from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s  office by Deputy Mayor Eileen Decker who will be presenting it to Amy Martin-Friedman.

The afternoon Luncheon and Champagne Reception includes a live performance by Award Winning Singer/Actress Brenda Epperson (Winner of the Angel Award for the Best Song “If You Believe” from the Movie Follow Your Heart as well as Acted in Amore, Storybook and the Young and the Restless).   http://www.brendaepperson.com/album.shtml.

“A Day in My Shoes” Amy Martin-Friedman The photographic portraits by Amy Martin-Friedman present the essence of Women by uniquely framing a moment in life signified by their shoes.  The “A Day in My Shoes” book expands the discourse by sharing personal stories of courage and strength along with the photography.  Moving and poignant, Martin-Friedman’s features portraits of the current class of Safe Passage Women, VIP’s and celebrities.  Seeking a Charity organization for which to donate her art and services  Martin-Friedman found Safe Passage through Google.  After contacting Founder Trish Steele, Safe Passage supporters commissioned portraits as well as sponsored portraits for the Women in the Safe Passage program, Stepping Stones to a New Life. These photographs were exhibited and the book (in which they are also featured) debuted at the 2011 “A Day in My Shoes” event.

In providing extreme life makeovers empowering women leaving abusive relationships, Safe Passage educates, councils, clothes, finds housing and employment, builds self love and confidence and even arranges restorative surgical services through the generous donation of highly skilled doctors from: “The Doctors” show: Dr. Drew Ordon, William Dorfman DDS, from Beverly Hills Dr. Rita Chopra and Dr. Fardad Forouzanpour, Bruce Vafa DDS and Dr. John Vartanian.
