Feb. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- strands Studio For Hair, a new upscale salon owned by Master Cosmetologist, Edie Ciccia, will give back to the community this spring in a unique way.  Ciccia and her stylists will donate their time on a Sunday in March to create trendy coifs on 40 teenage models.

These models are a unique group of young ladies. They model for Pure Fashion, a non-profit faith based organization promoting modesty and dignity. The program encourages teen girls to live, act, and dress in accordance with their dignity as children of God. Pure Fashion focuses on guiding young women ages 14-18 to become confident leaders who live the virtues of modesty and purity in their schools and communities. The program culminates in a major fashion show featuring clothing that is pretty but not provocative, trendy but still tasteful.

As part of their modeling program -- which includes a make-up session, runway training, a ‘mall mission,’ retreat, community service, and strolls down the catwalk -- the girls also visit a hair salon to learn the latest trends and to have their hair professionally styled for Pure Fashion head shots.

Ciccia, who has been in the hair salon business for 28 years, finally fulfilled her career-long dream of opening her own salon last spring, and besides her genuine desire to ‘exceed every client’s expectations,’ she feels strongly about giving her time and energy to organizations that help others.

“I think Pure Fashion is a fabulous program, as it provides young ladies with invaluable information on their inherent beauty, inside and out, and how they can be cute, trendy and fashionable in a modest and dignified way,” shared Edie Ciccia, strands STUDIO FOR HAIR owner.  “I am honored to work with Pure Fashion and to be able to create fun hairstyles that will complement these beautiful models’ individual styles. It will be a fun day and something my team and I will enjoy just as much as the girls!”

Other strands stylists who will participate include: Marla Wonner, Master Cosmetologist/Senior Stylist/Colorist; Mary Alice Gallogly, Senior Stylist, Colorist and Make-up Artist.

The salon visit takes place on Sunday, March 11, and the Pure Fashion Show, featuring all 40 models is slated for April 22, 2012 at Belk at The Forum on Peachtree Parkway, Norcross, GA.

Strands is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, accepting evening appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and is located at 5905 Atlanta Highway, Suite 105, Alpharetta, GA 30004. Phone: 770-710-0677.  www.strandsstudioforhair.com
