SYNOPSIS
The story of the people who marched in the biggest protest in history is to be told for the first time in a feature-length documentary. On 15 February 2003, up to 30 million people in up to 800 cities across all seven continents marched against the impending invasion of Iraq, voicing the opinion of millions. The day was described by novelist Arundhati Roy as the “most spectacular display of public morality ever”.‘We are Many’ is a feature documentary that will tell the story of the many millions who marched that day, some for the first and only time in their lives. It will explore the effect that this day had on global events and subsequent demonstrations up to and including the events of the Arab Spring and the current Occupy movement.

"The global protest against the Iraq War on 15 February 2003 was a pivotal moment in recent history, the consequences of which have gone unreported. Amir Amirani's We Are Many chronicles the struggle to shift power from the old establishment to the new superpower that is global public opinion, through the prism of one historic day. I urge you to support this film in whatever way you can." Oliver Stone, November 2011

‘We are Many’ is a crowd-funded production which raised over $92,000 on the innovative New York-based crowd-funding site KICKSTARTER which attracts projects from around the world. The story of this incredible day is being brought to film by donations and pledges from those who attended the anti-war demonstrations worldwide and those who are passionate about getting this fascinating story of mass human resistance told.

The film is being produced and directed by Anglo-Iranian film director Amir Amirani and Co-Produced by Frances Stonor Saunders. The film is also Executive Produced by Emmy nominated actor and activist Danny Glover, who gave a rousing speech at the demonstration in New York. The director Ken Loach is a patron of the project. This Amirani Films production, in association with The Tipping Point Film Fund, is being filmed across the world; in the UK, France, Germany, Spain Italy, USA, Australia, and Egypt.
