Westlake Village Attorney Kevin Dorhout Joins Adopt-A-Future Board

Feb. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIF.--Adopt-A-Future (AAF), a nonprofit organization that raises funds for Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning, has named Kevin Dorhout to its board of directors. Dorhout is a family law, estate planning, probate, business and real estate attorney with offices in Westlake Village. He will serve a two-year term.

   Dorhout joins seven other AAF board members. "“We are pleased to have Kevin join our board," says Randy Strong, AAF board chair.  "His professional background and strong personal commitment to family issues will make him a valuable asset to help further our mission."

   Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning, a chapter of FIRST 5 Ventura County, encourages parent participation in their child's education and offers child and parenting classes at six sites throughout the Conejo Valley. AAF, through fundraising campaigns and its annual Tropical Daze Summer Music Festival, helps support Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning by funding items for children including books, supplies, computer equipment and scholarships for low-income residents.
 
   "My goal while on the AAF Board is to promote awareness within the community of the opportunities parents have to provide a nurturing environment for their children through Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning," says Dorhout. "Children are our future.  As an attorney with a family law practice, I know firsthand the importance of having resources available that strengthen the parent-child-learning connection."
