Iyeoka Presents Latest Show in Barcelona, Spain During Mobile World Congress, Redefining Mobile

Feb. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Iyeoka is set to showcase her one woman musical for the first time in Barcelona, Spain during the upcoming 2012 Mobile World Congress, sponsored by Frog Design. Iyeoka is a Boston based Nigerian- American international singer-songwriter and drummer who creates her songs, from conception to completion, in the creative districts of USA and Nigeria. Members of the TED community and Mobile professionals will attend one of Iyeoka's two official shows. With the release of her latest album, Say Yes, and her new live production, Iyeoka Ivie Okoawo is taking the story of rebirth to new heights with her one of a kind storytelling and performance. Iyeoka's collection of all inclusive melodies offers a cutting edge sound, while still grasping a very warm feminine quality with her hypnotic percussion. After ten years of working a demanding and fulfilling career in pharmacy, Iyeoka finds herself finally at home and in harmony in the world of poetry, drums and music.    

Iyeoka's performances offer a culturally elegant look for young independent women. Combining a wide range of moments, inspired and entangled with story, dance, and accents from ancient Esan and African wisdom, Iyeoka makes sure men and women who experience her performances feel empowered while looking for the embedded context in their own intricate journeys. The detailed poetic selections in her repertoire suggest maturity, as a wide selection of her songs and rhythms include African influences reincarnated with western language, becoming interpretations into a pop matrix-style. Certain moments catch you off guard as they fit to outline the spiritual metaphor at symbolic degrees. Using songs like the Yellow Brick Road Song, and poems like Blink of An Eye, Iyeoka not only showcases a great lyrical catelog, but a promising quality of interactive performance.  Her songs have been featured on HBO and currently on the USA Network series Fairly Legal as theme song, while her poems have been featured on TED and TEDx stages across the globe.      

“One cannot stop the heart from seeing the beauty in possibilities, for possibilities inspire the heart,” expresses Iyeoka. “I am excited about my first official contribution as a drummer to the world with my showcase of When Women Were Drummers.” As a graduate from Northeastern University, Iyeoka later changed direction from the pharmaceutical and allied health industry to the music and entertainment industry. Iyeoka, however, openly expresses that her interests in science was directed by the hands of her family business more than her own. She has two older brothers who are also registered pharmacists and both parents are educators in medicine. Iyeoka is currently embarking in an incredible journey, leaving behind her former and comfortable life. She has graduated into the unpredictable endeavor of full time career musician to fulfill her lifelong dream of branding an evolving lifestyle as a self made creative independent recording  and performing artist.
