Proof Wood Sunglasses invades Surf Expo in Orlando

Feb. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Proof Wood Sunglasses recently attended the Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida to show off their wares to the attendees of the show. Proof has recently released the Ontario and the Bougus. Both wood sunglass models are unique and seem to be inspired by some classic vintage sunglass designs.

Brooks Dame Proof’s founder shared some comments and thoughts about the show.
“We were really excited to go to the Surf Expo this year. We didn’t really know what to expect. We’ve been doing shows on the West Coast and Vegas, but this was our first East Coast show. It also consisted of a very focused clientele base. It was made up of mostly core surf and skate shops, which was great for us.  It is interesting because a lot of the big boys in the sunglass industry were there and we rolled in as the new sunglass company on the block.  What was really great were the people who tracked us down and wanted to right an order because they had heard about us or had customers asking why they didn’t carry us. Other people wandered in and at first didn’t really get what we were about and then they realized that our sunglasses are made from wood. People would say, “What these are made of wood?” “These are like vintage sunglasses I love but made out of wood.” When I hear stuff like that it gets us pretty excited about what we are doing.

It was also great to see a lot of our friends in the industry and make a few new friends as well. The show is really laid back and fun. I think our first trip to the East Coast was really successful. We opened a few new shops and made some really good contacts.
