Whisk Bakery is a concept driven by Executive Chef Vinzenz Aschbacher, formerly of the Art Institute of Charleston, Red Velvet Catering and Charleston Place Hotel. Aschbacher, a Master Pastry Chef wanted to open a business in the form of an Italian paninoteca, or sandwich bar.
“In Europe, this is a very common concept and I wanted to recreate it here,” said Aschbacher. “I wanted to create a place that you can dash in, get something very quick – but very high quality – to eat on the go. However, we do offer seating for patrons in the restaurant.”
Whisk Bakery offers bagels, muffins, éclairs, cream puffs, and biscotti. Lunch offerings include several types of salad, wraps, and sandwiches. Whisk also offers coffee, espresso, flavored coffees, and cold drinks. Whisk Bakery opens daily at 7:30 a.m., seven days a week.
