Last October the association made the decision to provide an expanded menu of free educational resources on its Web site, petsit.com. This action led to nearly 3,000 inquires from pet lovers interested in pursuing in-home pet care as a career.
The overwhelming response prompted PSI to adopt a more simple and effective way to share advice, tips and industry knowledge.
“For nearly 18 years PSI has provided its members with top-notch business and pet-care tools,” PSI President Patti Moran said. “With the continued growth of the pet-sitting industry, more and more pet lovers are seeking information about pet-care careers. PSI will use its new blog to educate potential pet sitters about sound business practices, professional pet-care techniques and industry trends.”
The blog will also serve as a source of PSI news, updates and important announcements for its member businesses. In addition, PSI members have access to the PSI Pet Sitter Starter Kit, free pet-sitter business forms and marketing materials, free monthly webinars and a host of business and educational tools.
Founded by Moran in 1994, PSI is the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters, representing more than 7,000 member businesses in the United States, Canada and abroad.
