Duane Cantrell is currently the managing partner of Genius Consulting, a retail consulting firm. Mr. Cantrell was president of Payless ShoeSource and has over 30 years experience in the retail industry. He was responsible for all merchandising, marketing, and operations for the 5000-store specialty retail chain with revenues of US $3 billion. Mr. Cantrell's experience includes responsibility for international growth and development, supply chain, logistics and distribution, real estate development, construction and asset management, information technology, and finance. He is a graduate of both Kansas State University and Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
Mark Ruelle is the president and CEO of Westar Energy. He served as president of Nevada Power Company from 2001 to 2002, as well as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) from 1997 to 2001. From 1986 – 1997, during his previous tenure at Westar Energy, he held various financial, strategic planning and corporate development positions. He received both his bachelors and masters of arts degrees in economics from the University of North Dakota.
Larry Strecker is president of Strecker Consulting, LLC, an international consulting firm focusing on supply chain, sourcing, logistics, retailing and executive coaching. He was senior vice president of Supply Chain & International Operations for Payless ShoeSource until June of 2003, a position in which he was responsible for Payless’ supply chain from product development to manufacturing, distribution and delivery for Payless stores in the United States and 11 other countries. In 1980, Larry graduated summa cum laude from Kansas State University with a bachelor of science in industrial engineering. He later graduated from Southern Methodist University with an MBA in 1987.
Mark Willoughby is owner of Smart Business Solutions, LLC as well as part owner of Missouri Sand Company, LLC. Prior to his current role, Mark held senior management positions with Payless ShoeSource Inc., AMF Bowling Centers Inc., and PepsiCo Inc. Mark received his bachelors of science in business as well as his MBA from the University of Kansas.
Tom Kane is Owner of Kane Business Advisors, LLC. Tom has over 25 years of experience in human resources and human performance consulting, a position in which he helped clients transform their organization and improve employee capability and performance. Prior to starting his consulting advisory practice, Tom was a partner with Accenture and served organizations in multiple sizes and stages of maturity. Tom received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
The GTM Sportswear Advisory Board of Directors held their first meeting on Jan. 18, 2012. Future meetings will be held quarterly.
