Feb. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- In August 2011, The Vacation Channel teamed up with the Virginia Beach based company, Ciniva Web Design, to develop VacationChannels.com.  The Vacation Channel has been a partner in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry for over 30 years, serving as Hampton Roads in-room visitor’s channel.  Through support from local Hotel and Motel Associations, Convention and Visitors Bureaus, and city Tourism Departments, they have provided visitors of Coastal Virginia with an energetic video program that informs tourists about our wonderful region.

However, with increasing trends of tourists relying upon the web to plan for their vacation, as well as the need for information in the palm of their hand, The Vacation Channel knew that a service needed to be provided that would tackle both.   VacationChannels.com was created to serve as the gateway for web users to access our areas businesses and services from any platform (i.e. Smartphone, Tablet, and PC).

“Year in and year out people come back to Coastal Virginia for our great attractions, restaurants, unique shops, and beautiful scenery.  We want to continue building awareness of theses many offerings to bring them back again and again,” says Patrick Walsh, Manager of The Vacation Channel.

VacationChannels.com envisions itself serving as the YouTube for Coastal Virginia tourism.  In partnership with Metro Productions, a full service video production company, they provide businesses the opportunity to let consumers truly experience their offerings through high quality video ads.   All businesses are provided a free listing, but may upgrade to a featured listing, and receive a ByteSite page in which they can showcase their video, offer discounts, menus, promotions, directions to their business, and social media feeders.

“We want to make it easy for consumers to decide how to spend their money.  The best way to do that is by providing them with the right information.  We also want them to create a bond with our local businesses and by giving them direct access to their social media feeders so they can follow and interact with them year round,” says Patrick.

VacationChannels.com also has a dedicated section of their site called, Vid Bits.  Here they interview industry experts throughout the area who provide our audience with useful cooking tips, recipes, safety guidelines, historical insight, and so much more.  “This is just another way to create a lasting relationship with our local businesses,” says Patrick.

Whether you are in Coastal Virginia on vacation or business, or even live locally, check out VacationChannels.com to connect with our businesses, get information on the area, and discover the best places to eat, shop, and play.
