PRLog (Press Release) -
Feb. 13, 2012 - The hotel management team strives to maximize the guest experience by creating a feeling of home, while still managing reduction of energy consumption. This new “green” system achieves both objectives by controlling the energy consumption of all occupied and unoccupied rooms while maintaining a very comfortable guest room environment. When a room is vacant, the system will adjust the room temperature to a set point that management selects as seasonally appropriate;
when a room is occupied but the guest is not in the room, the system will automatically make a minor temperature adjustment as selected by management. This is achieved using state-of-the-
art motion and door sensors working in conjunction with digital thermostats to control the heating and air-conditioning temperature reductions only when the guest is not in the room.
Jose Colon, Chief Engineer shares; “We are proud to invest in environmentally friendly initiatives and have plans to further enhance our efficiencies by deploying additional technologies in the near future with a Green Engage program. Our Green Engage Community will continuously seek improvements to reduce our carbon footprint while maximizing the guest experience, which is our ultimate goal.”
