Jamie O’Connell, Marketing Director at The Student Room said: “Despite the rise in fees demand for a place at university in the UK hasn’t abated. We have however seen students spending more time researching their decision and as a result are waking up to the fact that studying at an international institution is a viable option.”
“At the same time international universities are starting to proactively market their courses at UK students. We see this as a very positive evolution for students, choice is good and competition raises standards. There are many positives about studying overseas and students should be open-minded about getting a global education that equips them for a global workplace.”
The survey focused on applicants for the 2012 higher education entry, researching their view of studying overseas compared to studying in the UK under the new inflated fee system. These findings were split into two reports for Undergraduate and Postgraduate applicants, available from http://Insight.thestudentroom.co.uk/
