The main attraction at this event will be a redesigned bar named after jump racing champion Kauto Star. Fans will be invited to celebrate the champion's record-smashing fifth King George IV Chase victory in 2011. Kauto Star’s owner Clive Smith will be in attendance to open the bar to the public. Memorabilia in the bar will include the horse’s framed racing colours, a Kauto racing plate, a ‘Kautograph’
The 12 year old gelding made history last December by winning the George IV Chase for a record fifth time. The record was previously held by four-time winner Desert Orchid. Kauto Star is a crowd favourite and has been described as “a fantastic ambassador for horse racing ( http://www.kempton.co.uk) .”
Kempton Park is the historic home of the King George IV Chase, one of the most prestigious races in the National Hunt racing calendar. It runs each year on Boxing Day as part of the William Hill Winter Festival. Since its inauguration in 1937 only twelve horses have succeeded in winning it more than once.
Racing Plus Chase Day is extremely popular with families and racing enthusiasts alike. Facilities include an all-weather Polytrack synthetic track and floodlighting to help races continue in all lighting conditions. It is half an hour from central London and accessible by M25 and rail.
