Carve the Copper Relief is an app for iPhone/iPod touch and iPad that enables the user to experience the creation of a genuine copper relief.
The art of copper relief encompasses the creation of artistic works by drawing designs on thin sheets of copper, making indentations with a needle and spatula, applying a coloring, oxidizing fluid finish, and polishing with steel wool. App features such as indentation methods, surface luster, and the changes in tint after oxidation and polishing are reproduced very realistically because they are based on physics simulation technology researched and developed at the University of Tokyo. Finished products can be submitted and shared in the Web Gallery.
