Every Dancer Counts: Breaking a Guinness World Record for the Largest Synchronized Line Dance

Feb. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- People may or may not know this, but Detroit is known for its cool and creative line dances and hustles.  The number of line dances floating around the Detroit clubs and bars are too numerous to name.  Some are complex with many twist and turns, like the Bad Girl Hustle or Super Bad, and some are simple and easy to follow, like the Wobble and the Cupid Shuffle.  It’s this variety of hustle/line dances that influenced Roslyn Coleman of Social Detroit, LLC to seek to set a Guinness World Record™ for the largest synchronized line dance.

The largest synchronized line dance is multiple dancers, doing the Tick Tock hustle (a new line dance), at the same time, to Tick Tock (a hot new single), in different locations.  The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 25, 2012 and will take place at multiple locations throughout the metro Detroit, Michigan area.  The current record of 17,200 people was set April 22, 2009 in Chungxiong, Yunnan.  In order to break this record many more venues, dancers, and volunteers are needed.  Dancers, volunteers, venues and sponsors can sign up at http://www.LargestSynchronizedLineDance.org or contact Roslyn Coleman directly for more details.

In addition, Social Detroit is using this opportunity to raise funds for some local not-for-profit organizations.  Registration will be open up until the day of the event, but Social Detroit hopes to have enough dancers registered well in advance of the event.
