Villas de Palermo supports Grounds for Health at 2012 Pitaya Festival

Feb. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Villas de Palermo is a proud supporter of Grounds for Health at the 2012 Pitaya Festival in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua on February 10, 2012. Join the party!  Buy a raffle ticket or make a donation to help reduce cervical cancer in coffee growing regions of Nicaragua.   A $10 Raffle ticket gives you a chance for dinner with reknown author and feminist Gioconda Belli.  

Cervical Cancer kills more women than any other cancers in developing countries. This is a problem with a solution.  Grounds for Health brings early detection and treatment to Nicaragua’s coffee growing communities using a single visit approach. For just C$6 a women can be screened and a life can be saved.  Grounds for Health is a non-profit located in Vermont, focused on bringing women’s health care to coffee-growing communities.  They are currently working in Mexico, Nicaragua and Tanzania.  

World renown author Gioconda Belli is supporting this event with a reading and book signing at the San Juan del Sur bookstore and café, El Gato Negro, owned by Rob and Kelly Thomas.  There will be a small private dinner for a lucky few following the reading at the fabulous Mediterranean fare restaurant, El Colibri.  A maximum or 100 tickets will be sold.  Drawing will be held at El Gato Negro on Saturday morning.
