Grand Rapids, Michigan — Plante Moran, PLLC, one of the nation’s largest accounting and business advisory firms, today announced the launch of a food and beverage industry practice.
Mike Lamfers, a partner in the Grand Rapids office of the firm, will be part of the new practice group that formalizes the expertise that Plante Moran has gained serving the needs of more than 200 food and beverage industry clients. Plante Moran's food and beverage practice provides a variety of services, including financial statement auditing, tax planning and compliance, technology assessments, operations improvement, cost containment and transportation cost reduction to clients nationwide.
The client base consists of food processors in several diverse industry sectors including confectionery, frozen foods, snacks, baked goods, dairy and natural processors.

Lamfers brings more than 15 years of manufacturing, distribution, consumer and retail experience to this new group. He is active professionally and in the community, serving on the boards of the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum and Baxter Community Center, as well as a member of the Association of Corporate Growth.
