is in the midst of ‘Oprah’s next chapter’. One of her early stops was
the Chassidic community in Brooklyn where she meets with families and
Rabbis in the community. The two part series is called First Look:
America's Hidden Culture, and Yitzchok Moully the Pop Art Rabbi will
be featured in the second segment. Moully serves as a Youth Rabbi at
the Chabad Jewish Center in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Back in October Moully curated a pop up gallery in the Chassidic
section of Crown Heights Brooklyn. The show was titled ‘Chassidim of
color’ and displayed the work of artists in the Chassidic community,
sharing the great creativity in the Chassidic community.
The art show was an amazing success with the doors staying open till
4am on some days with hundreds of people enjoying the show and not
wanting to leave.
The amazing thing is that artist just came off the street wanting to
be part of it, from a 13 year old boy with string art to a 70+ year
old lady with digital art, it definitely was a hit in the community.
During the art show, Oprah’s film crew stopped in to take it in and
interview Moully on what it is all about. That clip has made it in to
Oprah’s show to be screened on February 15 as part of the second
