Shakespeare's Fairy Tale, Cymbeline, Opens Friday at Orlando Shakespeare Theater

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Known as Shakespeare’s fairy tale, there’s a princess to rival any Disney heroine and an evil stepmother who out-stepmothers both Cinderella’s and Snow White’s stepmothers, combined! Cymbeline features one of Shakespeare's most resourceful female characters, Imogen, who in defiance of her father, King Cymbeline, secretly marries the poor, but worthy, Posthumous. When Cymbeline discovers her marriage and banishes her husband, Imogen sets off into the Welsh countryside in search of him. The adventuresome journey to the couple's reunion is populated with colorful characters, a wicked stepmother, sword fights, and sleeping potions.

OPENING NIGHT FESTIVITIES:
Opening Night pre-show chats provide audiences with the opportunity to further connect with the work on Orlando Shakes’ stages. Join Cymbeline director, Jim Helsinger and members of the creative and education teams in the Patron’s Room on Friday, February 10 from 7:15 - 7:45pm for an informal discussion about the play.

After the show, audience members are invited to celebrate with the cast, crew, designers and Orlando Shakes staff at the Opening Night Party. The party begins after the show and everyone is invited. Edible Orlando will provide delicious complimentary hors d’oeuvres. The night will also feature happy hour specials at our cash bar. No RSVP necessary.
