Bacon Lovers Society BENSA International Opposes New Jack in the Box Bacon Shake

New Jack in the Box Bacon Shake is a "sham shake" says BENSA International founder and cookbook author Eliza Cross, since it contains no actual bacon

Feb. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Denver, CO - BENSA International is issuing a Fakin’ Bacon Member Alert to its members today, regarding a “bacon milkshake” that will be served at Jack in the Box restaurants.

The organization's concern? The milkshake doesn't include any actual bacon (bacon-flavored syrup is used instead) – and it weighs in at a whopping 1,081 calories. BENSA International is urging its members skip the faux bacon imposter shake and instead enjoy the real thing.

“A slice of crispy, crunchy, delicious broiled or pan-fried bacon has just 46 calories,” says BENSA International founder Eliza Cross, who is also the author of the cookbook 101 Things To Do With Bacon. “You could enjoy 23 strips of real bacon for the same calories in this sham shake. Jack in the Box is clearly trying to capitalize on the popularity of bacon, but we’re confident Bensans won’t be suckered by this spurious scheme.”

BENSA International is the exclusive society for Bacon Enthusiasts 'N' Swine Aficionados, with members across the globe devoted to the enjoyment of crispy, crunchy, flavorful bacon. Unlike the high-IQ society Mensa, BENSA believes that every person deserves to belong to a prestigious society. To join BENSA, candidates must love bacon and take a short Bacon Bensa Intelligence Test (also known as the Bacon B.I.T.). For more information, visit http://BensaInternational.com.
